April 2008

so…. some how in intermural basketball, we made it to the championship game. im not sure how it happened, because at the beginning of the season, we were the team that everyone made fun of. we ended up losing by 5. not bad considering we werent that good. haha. oh well.

we got our rough mixes back and they are sounding pretty good. hopefully they will be completely done soon!

so i saw this in front of my school the other day. there are a few problems with this:

1) i live in east point/south west atlanta

2) i didnt think anyone around here lived on more than half acre of land.

3) i didnt know cowboys could be black

this was just random and funny to me. ha

so i was privileged enough to see john smoltz get his 3000th strikeout. hes the 16th pitcher ever do reach this landmark. heres a picture of the field right after he did it.

hooray for the braves. they lost that game pretty bad, but it was still fun! i caught a t-shirt that the girls launch out of those big guns into the crowd. i didnt even see it coming actually. it almost hit me in the face!

good times

So I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I’ll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours

im going to the braves game tonight. the braves are on a winning streak i think, so hopefully they will keep it going. baseball is awesome. i feel bad for my friends that go to school far away from here and miss out on major league baseball. ha. go braves

so i think i found a new style. tell me what you think!

just when i think “The Living Room” cant get any cooler, they out-do themselves. it was an awesome night. God was in that place. maybe this is dumb, but i almost feel like anyone who isnt there is missing something awesome. even if you dont like God, theres still awesome music and cool people to hang out with. i wish something like this was available to people everywhere. not just atlanta and surrounding areas.

we lost our basketball game tonight, which was right after the living room. we had to rush back and we were almost late. we lose because we spend more time complaining about someone bumping into them or something stupid. and we didnt have the support we needed from our friends!! (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!) haha. just kidding.

im out.

this past week was a great week. it was very busy, but it was great financially. haha. and i needed that. we played music a lot and a wore my hands out on some bongos. it was a lot of fun.

im so pumped about making more rock n roll all the time like we used to! things have been so slow lately. i cant wait to get the new recordings. ill let everyone who reads this know when we get them up. (all 3 of you)

I just finished my philosophy paper about whether or not morality is dependent upon God. im not even really going to get into it in here because im not even sure what i wrote. i dont really understand. it was in response to Bertrand Russels essay “why i am not a christian.” its actually pretty good reading. you can find it on google. philosophy to me is a bunch of simple questions that require simple answers. except we make the questions ridiculously difficult so they dont make sense. then we sit around and try to think of a complex answer. im sure theres more to it than that, but when im dealing with it, thats how i feel. of course a Christian isnt going to agree with an atheist on anything, especially whether or not morality comes from God. why do i need to come up with 6 pages of nonsense about it? no offense to anyone who digs this stuff, i guess its just not my cup of tea. im probably wrong about all of this, and im im just rambling because im tired.
goodnight.

so i have been playing bongos and stuff for this retreat in north atlanta. its day 2 and my hands are killing me.

so tonight i got to rock out with some good friends: chris, bobby, paul and bassist. i dont get to play with paul and bassist that much so it was definitely a blast. we played a ton of worship songs. its fun playing with other people who are so solid and good at what they do. wouldnt wanna have it any other way! there wasnt a ton of people there, but we got free barbecue. haha.

i will say, its nice to be able to earn a living playing these kinds of things, but its way more than that. its just a blast worshiping God and hanging out with such awesome dudes!

we are in the process of getting the “rock and roll” (chris coleman music) back on track. we have been a little slow while we have been finishing this demo. this will be squared away and it will pick back up soon. and i am very very pumped about that.

school is lame. i better get a better job one day like everyone says i will. ha.
